Questions worth answering plainly.
Grouped by what's actually on your mind — ordering, sworn validity, turnaround, formats, payment.
Ordering
Do I have to request a quote before I know the price?
No. Every fixed-scope service shows its price on this page, on its own service page and on /pricing. A quote is only needed for genuinely bespoke work, like a large localisation project.
Can I order without creating an account?
Yes. Add a service to your cart, check out as a guest, and you'll receive your order reference on the confirmation page and by email.
What if my project doesn't fit a package?
Say so on the contact form, or choose "Request a quote" where it's offered (currently Website & Software Localization) — we'll scope it and reply with a price.
How do I send you my document?
After you add a service to your cart, checkout asks for your document details. You can email the file itself to support@finesttranslations.com referencing your order number.
Can I change or cancel my order after I've placed it?
Yes, before work has started — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the exact terms.
Sworn & legal validity
What's the difference between "certified" and "sworn" translation?
In Spain, "sworn" (jurada) means stamped and signed by a translator individually appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — the only kind of translation Spanish authorities treat as officially valid on its own.
Is a sworn translation from finesttranslations accepted by Spanish authorities?
Yes. Every sworn order is translated, then stamped and signed by a translator individually appointed traductor-intérprete jurado by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC).
Will my apostille be affected by translation?
No. We translate the document and the apostille's wording; the apostille itself is neither altered nor removed.
Do you deliver a physical stamped copy, or just a PDF?
Both, by choice. Most authorities now accept a digitally signed PDF; if yours requires a wet-stamped hard copy, choose postal delivery or collect it from our Campanar office.
Is Legal & Corporate Translation the same as sworn translation?
No — see Legal & Corporate Translation for non-sworn contract and litigation work; see Certified & Sworn Translation when a document needs an official stamp.
Turnaround
How fast can I get my document translated?
Standard turnaround is 3–4 business days. Urgent orders (24h) carry a 35% surcharge, and short certificates can often be turned around same-day.
What counts as "urgent"?
A 24-hour turnaround from confirmed order to delivery, carrying a 35% surcharge.
Can I get a same-day sworn translation?
Often, for short certificates under 300 words. Tell us your deadline when you order.
Do larger projects follow the same turnaround?
No — packages above the listed word counts are scheduled individually and confirmed before you pay.
Formats
What file formats do you accept and deliver?
Word, PDF and common office formats for most services; localisation uses JSON, XLIFF, CSV or PO/POT; subtitling uses SRT/VTT.
Do you provide burned-in or soft subtitles?
Both — soft subtitles as standard, or burned-in on request.
Can you match our document's existing layout and tables?
Yes — tables, figures and clause numbering are delivered untouched wherever the source allows it.
Do you work directly from CAD drawings or design files?
Yes — send manuals, datasheets or drawings in their native format and we translate in place.
Payment & refunds
How do I pay?
At checkout you can choose to pay by bank transfer or on invoice (for business accounts). This is a demonstration checkout, so no payment is actually collected online.
Is this a real payment system?
No — this is a demonstration checkout. No card details are collected anywhere on this site.
Can I get a refund?
Before work starts, yes, in full. Once translation has begun, the completed proportion is chargeable. Certified or sworn work already stamped and issued cannot be refunded.
What if there's an error in my translation?
Any error or omission on our side is corrected free of charge, or refunded if a correction is not possible.
